Traditional NBA Parlay

Bulls ML vs. ATL | 76ers ML vs. Heat (+146, FanDuel)

I like Chicago to beat the Hawks tonight, but I don't trust Chicago to cover. The same can be said for the 76ers vs. the Heat with that spread inflated to Philly -5.5 as of Wednesday morning. If we parlay both moneylines together, we get a payout of +146 at FanDuel, which I think is decent value for play-in action.

The Bulls have done a great job slowing down Trae Young in their two meetings with him this season, holding him to just 29.0% shooting from the field and 22.7% from deep. So while Chicago allows more 3s than any other team in the league, its ability to contain Young will be the difference in winning and losing tonight.

The Bulls also have home-court advantage and a health advantage with Atlanta missing forwards Saddiq Bey, Onyeka Okongwu and Jalen Johnson. Johnson's absence is especially costly, as he averaged 16.0 points per game and 8.7 rebounds and was in the Most Improved Player conversation this year.

The Sixers were the most dominant team in the league to close out the regular season. With Joel Embiid back in the mix, Philly won its final seven games and led the league in defensive rating over that span. I would not be shocked at all if it covered -5.5 with ease tonight, but Miami is a different team once the postseason hits, which is why I'm forgoing a bet on the side.

Bam Adebayo has done a really good job of slowing down Embiid, holding him to just 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 13 career games against him. That said, even if Embiid is held under his season averages tonight, the Sixers have Tyrese Maxey and other weapons that are playing at a high enough level right now to bring home the W.

NBA Same-Game Parlay

DraftKings No-Sweat SGP: 76ers ML, Bam Adebayo Under 18.5 Points, Jaime Jaquez Over 2.5 Rebounds, Under 216.5 (+405)

If you didn't read the above paragraph, I suggest you do because I tell you why I like the Sixers to earn the win tonight.

Our BetQL model loves the under on Bam's point prop tonight, making this a four-star play. He's averaging just 15.0 points over the last month and has only topped this number in three of his last eight games. In his four games against Philly this season, Bam finished with at least 20 points in three of them, however, Joel Embiid didn't play in any of those games. In the one game in which Bam faced Embiid, he finished with just 14 points.

The over on Jaquez's rebound prop might be my favorite play of the night. In his four games against Philly this season, he's finished with four, nine, nine and 10 rebounds, and is averaging 13.5 potential rebounds. Terry Rozier’s absence will also alter Miami’s lineup a bit, forcing Tyler Herro into the primary PG role and giving Jaquez more minutes at SG. With more playing time comes more opportunities for rebounds.

Philadelphia has the best defensive rating since Embiid returned to the lineup, while Miami ranks 10th over that same span. The Heat also play at the third-slowest pace and will try and force the Sixers to play their style, leading to a lower-scoring game. I do think the total is pretty sharp, so we'll take an alt line of 216.5 to give ourselves a little buffer. Best of all, we'll get our stake back as a bonus bet if this doesn't hit!
