PICK: Over 7.5 (+102, FanDuel)

With the way this series has unfolded, it might be best to stay away from picking a winner because the Phillies are red-hot while the Astros are still the better team on paper. But after the BetQL model was accurate in projecting fewer than eight runs in Game 3, the model is projecting over 7.5 runs in Game 4. The first three games of this series have averaged 8.3 runs, while the Phillies have hit the over 53.7% of the time in their home games this season.

Given the power that the Phillies have shown during the postseason, especially at home, every game has the chance to turn into a high-scoring affair. The trio of Bryce Harper, Rhys Hoskins and Kyle Schwarber alone has combined for 16 homers in 14 postseason games. Plus, Cristian Javier hasn’t pitched in over 10 days, so he might be a little rusty against a confident lineup. Likewise, the Astros got the better of Aaron Nola in Game 1, scoring five runs against him in 4.1 innings. If the Houston lineup can get things going again, it’s hard to believe this game will stay under 7.5 total runs.

PICK: Over 0.5 Runs in 1st Inning (+110 on DraftKings)

The home team has scored in each game of this series, which is a trend that has a good chance to continue in Game 4. The Phillies are riding an incredible wave of momentum right now and showing immense power in a hitter-friendly ballpark. They also have their best power hitters at the top of the lineup, so it’ll only take one swing to put a run on the board in the first inning. If Javier is rusty after not pitching in over 10 days, the Phillies will be poised to strike early. Also, given Nola’s struggles in Game 1, it’s not impossible for the Astros to score a run in the first inning as a way to trade punches with the Phillies after getting knocked down in Game 3.

PICK: Aaron Nola 5+ Ks & Cristian Javier 5+ Ks (-105 on DraftKings)

There has been an average of 19.3 strikeouts per game during the first three games of the World Series, so it’s not hard to envision both starters getting to five strikeouts. Even though he was knocked out after 4.1 innings in Game 1, Nola still got to five strikeouts. That was his lowest strikeout total in his last eight starts. Plus, Nola should be able to make adjustments to Houston’s approach to him in Game 1 and be a little sharper.

Meanwhile, Javier is also a safe bet to reach five strikeouts, which was his strikeout total when he tossed 5.1 innings against the Yankees in the ALCS. In his final six starts of the regular season, Javier registered at least six strikeouts in every start. He might need a little time to settle in, but Javier has great stuff and is facing a Philadelphia lineup that strikes out a lot and hasn’t seen him before.

Barring surprisingly brief outings, five strikeouts figure to be the bare minimum for both Nola and Javier in Game 4.

BONUS PICK: Bryce Harper Over 1.5 total bases (boosted to +200 at DraftKings)

The odds boost at DraftKings makes this a no-brainer bet on Harper, who has six total bases through the first three games of the World Series. For comparison, he's just +130 to get 2+ total bases at FanDuel, making this bet extra valuable.
